Darter
It is called a snake bird and has a very long neck, black color with white stripes. It is a treat to watch this bird when the wings are spread. I spotted this bird at kaziranga park in assam, it has a long bill which is yellowish brown in color, the other name of this bird is anhingas. It comes from a ninga in Brazilian tupi language means devil bird or snake bird, when swimming only the neck appears above the water so the bird looks like a snake ready to strike, they mainly feed on insects some small water birds, they breed in colonies with herons they have different display to attract females, males display to attract females by raising their wings breeding is in march April, the clutch consists of two to six eggs nest construction takes few days, the eggs are incubated for 30days.
