Spotted dove
Pigeons and doves are stout barrel chested birds with short necks and small heads, they have delicate bills with fleshy short legs, they have large wings powered by strong muscles allowing them a strong flight, they are one of the strongest fliers in the avian world. The spotted dove is a large resident bird, looks similar to the oriental turtle dove, the difference is the large black patch on its nape and the sides of its neck are spotted white . The brownish feathers have buff tips. Which gives it a spotted appearance . It is mainly seen in gardens and cultivated areas. It has a soft mournful sound.
