Common pheasant
It is actually a native to asia but it is also common to Britain and most of Europe to a lesser extent in north America and Australasia and was introduced else were as a game bird bred in large number for food and sport. Despite being common this species is quite secretive favoring country side where there is plenty of cover in form of crops. It spends most of its time on ground searching for food. It is occasionally seen on trees. It feeds on vegetable matter such as seeds berries grains and shoots consuming worms and other invertibrates, often seen in small flocks. Common pheasants may be observed in pairs during breeding season. Nesting accurs on grounds in scrap among vegetation upto 15 eggs may be produced. These are incubated for four weeks and the young are fledged for two weeks after hatching,
