grey headed fish eagle
The grey headed fish eagle is the other common eagle seen in the central and eastern zone of kaziranga park in assam. This is a winter migrant it is mainly seen in the north east and some parts of rajasthan. It is mainly seen sitting on a branch which is over a pool or a pond. It has got a irish bill. It is a tall bird with a small head. The body is brown with a white tail this white tail has a bold black tip The sexes are similar but the female is larger. It is mainly seen in the the forest near river areas, The bill is black and strong with a curve at the tip below the breast is the bright white patch.
