crested serpent eagle

I saw this bird in the eastern zone and central zone of kaziranga park. This bird is a lone ranger. It often waits on leafy branches for hours waiting for its prey. It was the first eagle I saw in assam, it is mainly seen in forest areas. This eagle is a perched hunter it feeds mainly on reptiles and snake. This bird has a short crest which black in color, it has grey cheeks and buff brown under parts. The legs are yellow unfeathered and long. One can see a large yellow patch at the base of the bill with yellow eyes and a black spot at the center. The bill is greyish in color with a curve at the tip. This bird is quite common in the central and eastern zone of kaziranga park in assam.
