brahminy starling
It is a smartly attired starling. The adult has a black crown ending in a pointy crest over the nape. Its face and under parts are deep with pale shaft streaks. It has a yellow bill with blue base. The upper part wings and rump are grey with dark tail tipped white. The female is similar but has a short crest. Nesting It lays 3 to5 pale blue eggs in tree hollows and readily takes to nest boxes. I was thrilled to see this color full bird on my recent trip to Gujarat. It is seen in the early morning or late evening.
