Today I have a new set of 10 abstract textures that look like surfaces from alien planets. These Free Alien Rock Textures are from icelandic rocks such as jasper and quartz. I did apply some color changes to create the red and bluish tone, and toned down the brightness to make them more dark and gritty.
If you are wondering how to use them, there are many applications that come in mind. For example a dark abstract music poster with text, a gritty website background (if you tone the texture down a bit), or an overlay in a photomanipulation to create a damaged and worn effect to a photograph. The possibilities are endless, really.
