MillionDollarWiki – the new hype?
After first reading about it at shoemoney’s blog, this looks like the first original copy of the “milliondollarpage” idea.
What’s it all about?
“The Million Dollar Wiki is the first pay-per-page model of a wiki. Creator Graham Langdon, a senior student at the University of Connecticut, hopes to sell 10,000 pages ($100 each) to generate a Million Dollar in sales.”
Basicly you can buy your own page for $100 and put whatever content you want in there. The owner assures that your wiki page will be online for at least 15 years. It’s a clever marketing tactic if it succeeds, and it can send a considerable about of traffic to the site you are promoting on your milliondollarwiki site. They also allow you to re-sell your pages in the future.
So far they have sold over 700 pages, which has brought the owner a whooping $70K in pure earnings. If it’s gonna take off or not, I can’t tell. But the owner is getting a lot of both online and offline press these days.
Like some others I’ve jumped the bandwagon and purchased 3 pages from them to promote stockvault. I will be adding more content to the pages as soon as I get the time. Check them out here:

I think those who purchased in August and September benefitted the best. This site didn’t and doesn’t have the hype that MDH had. But at least the owner is making his money. I’m not putting him down for the idea. It’s great that he’s making the money he is now.
I suggest for people to also try http://drknownothing.com/knowledge/ . This site will be used to help the webmastering community. Plus it’s cheaper to buy a page than the million dollar wiki.
