When it comes to email newsletters, you have to make your readers want to open the email and read it. If you’re like me, you probably get 150 emails before you even wake up in the morning, so promotional emails tend to get pushed to the bottom of the list or automatically deleted, even if they’re from your favorite company.

However, as a designer, one thing that will always convince me to open a newsletter is if I know the company is going to have a neat design. Companies like Envato, MailChimp and 37Signals make a point of having brilliantly designed email newsletters, which have not only useful information, but a great design to look at.
