Calligraphy is a type of art that involves essentially “fancy lettering”. More specifically, calligraphy is often a hand-written and custom lettered inscription drawing on influences from Arabic or Asian influences combined with Western design principles. Calligraphy is quite popular even today, used widely in wedding and event invitations as well as fine art.

Calligraphy can also be used for standalone design because of the unique influence of the artist on the letter shaping and styles.
