Every webmaster knows the importance of continuously adding new and unique content to their website. But the common misconception is that only the site's content needs to be constantly maintained. This unfortunately can cause an issue for many webmaster attempting to rank high in the SERPs. All too often the most important part is often overlooked: the website design itself.

One has to remember that the search engine spiders see the website's code, so the way it looks. Simply changing a few images does not do anything more then changing a couple lines of text in a page's article. When the spiders see this code, they see more then just the content; they see the naming of classes and the usage of divisions and tables. If a website does not regularly update the site look and feel also through a Premium Templates , then it is no better then developing a site which is never changed.

For many webmasters, this brings up an important question, Why restyling a website is necessary? Not many can see the importance of consistently updating and revamping their website's design; after all they spent a lot of time and money designing it in the first place. Well the reason is an obvious one; just as regularly updated pages shows to the search engines that a website is active, continuous improvements to the website's layout and design shows that the owner of the website is active and wanting to make it for the visitors.

If you spend the time to design a website's layout but fail to restyle it on a regular basis, you are doing yourself a grave injustice. Not only does the website's design fall out of style in a matter of only a few weeks, but you are not maximizing your site's potential. We are not talking about a complete redesign of the site, but a minor change here and there can work wonders. The spiders will see these minor flaws as you being active on the website and putting forth the effort necessary to make your website more user-friendly.

Of course you could always take the other option which is to never change a thing and in a few years'time, watch your search engine rankings falter and your layout go out of style. Think about all of those other websites that look as if they were designed 10 years ago. They may only be a few years old, but the webmaster's failure to restyle the website on a routine basis has allowed it to quickly become outdated.

While you may regularly update the content on your website, if you do not also restyle the website designs on a regular basis then unfortunately all the work that you put into your site may be in vain.
