Why CMS? Well, look at it this way. Why reinvent the wheel? Creating a website from scratch is a lot of work. It requires a lot of planning, designing, servicing, a lot of expertise, and a lot of time. There is no question that you will need to provide content of the website, but there is a better solution for creating the structure and design of the website. We call it going open source. All the time and expertise has already been put into creating all the parts of your website. You can simply select the parts you want on your website, and piece it together.
This is why Joomla is awesome. To get started, all you need to do is log into your hosting account, go to the application center, locate Joomla, and click "Install Joomla." Within about ten minutes or so, your Joomla Website will be up and running with sample content. If you enter your domain into an internet browser, you will see a website that has a lot of information about Joomla. All this content will be easily replaced. So will the look and feel.
Once Joomla is installed, you can decide upon the look and feel of your website. Here is the best part. If you go to Google and do a search for "Joomla Templates," you will be amazed. There are thousands and thousands available, either for free or for a minimal cost. There are also thousands of free Joomla extensions available. Prior to me writing this article, all the templates I have used are free, but I have seen several that I may soon buy. Don't get too caught up in the images in these templates, because these can be replaced.
What you want to look for is in a template is the look, feel, and function that you need in your website. I would expect to do some digging to find just what you want, but that effort will be small in comparison to what it would have taken you to develop this website from scratch.
