One Photoshop tool that graphic designers heavily use while taking up design projects is the Slice Tool. The tool allows designers working for graphic design firms to divide images into smaller sections. Located in the top section of the Photoshop Toolbox, the tool is infact the combination of two tools - Slice and Slice Select. While the Slice Tool is meant for creating slices, the Slice Select enables one to select and modify existing slices.
For any graphic designing professional, using both the Tools is a completely easy task. Here are a few tips how to use the tools.
Select the Slice Tool in the toolbox. Click and drag over the area that you want to make into a slice. Release the mouse button. It will automatically create the required number of slices, with the active slice highlighted. Using the Slice Select Tool, you can move as well as resize slices by dragging inside a slice, or by simply dragging the handles. To export separate images, you need to choose File > Save for Web from the menu.
Any graphic design agency use Photoshop for working on clients' projects. Hence, the Slice Tools are also obviously used up to a very great extent.
