SEO Page Design

Article by Daniel Welsch - January 23, 2007

When you design your site you need to make it appealing to your visitors and to the search engine spiders. Search engines read your site top to bottom, left to right. And so do your visitors thats why you need to design your site so that your visitors will find it easy to navigate and the search engine can easily read your content.

The page layout I recommend is as follows. At the top of the page you should make a header logo make sure to use some of your keywords in the file name also use keywords in the alt text. Under you header use the H1 tag for your page title, again make sure you use some keywords in your title. Also use the H2 and H3 tags for any sub headings. Under your title goes your page content, be sure to make it keyword rich but don't over do it you still want your readers to like what they read.

As for the navigation for the site it should be placed on the right side of the page, never place it below the header logo as you don't want the search engine spider reading your html code instead of your content. Be sure to use text links for your pages not images. If you do decide to use image links be sure to have the same links on the bottom of the page in text format.

Following these page design tips and you will be on your way to a higher page rank.
