How to Design a Good Website That Can Bring You Sales

What makes a website good? Is it because of its design? A good business website must always have the end user in mind. It should be engaging, nice and marketable. The objective of a website is to build your brand and turn visitors to customers.

In this article, I will share with you some tips to design a good business website:

1. The right design. Your website portrays your brand. If your business brand targets professionals, the design of your website must be professional and polished. If your target audience is young adult, that the design of your website can be fun and interactive. Some people like to have Flash on their websites. Although Flash is nice, many visitors find it irritating and this may make them leave the site within the first few seconds. So it is important that the design of your site targets the right audience.

2. Keep your company branding consistent throughout your marketing collaterals. It is important to make your customers feel the consistency in your company branding. The design of your website must fit with the look and feel of other marketing collaterals like name cards and brochures.

3. User-friendly. Your website must have easy navigation. It is very frustrating for visitors when they have trouble navigating through your site. Place navigation bar on prominent areas of your website. Also, always include a sitemap that includes the links to every page of your site.

4. Good content. A website without useful content is of no use for your business. The reason people visit your website is to look for useful information. When you are writing the content, always use bullet points to break down large chunk of paragraphs. Good content also helps to get your website to rank high on search engines.

5. Optimize your website. The process of optimizing your website is known as SEO. SEO is the process of increasing traffic from search engines via search engine natural result listings. When you optimize your website, some of the keywords that are related to your business will rank high on search engines like Google. When your prospects search using the keyword, they can find your website and visit it. This will increase the chance of converting them to customers.

An additional tip for you is to get a good domain name that is easy to remember. Also, make sure that the domain name relates to your business.
