Clearwing moth on fern leaf Stock Photo

Oh, yes, very nice picture, by the way! I know we have them in Natchez, MS and the info from bugguide.net says the range is Southeastern states, primarily in Florida but also (recorded mostly along the coasts?) in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. I hope this info is helpful.

Hi, this is a scarlet bodied wasp moth. It is actually a member of the Tiger Moth family (Arctiidae), genus and species Cosmosoma myrodora. There is a great site called bugguide.net where you can post a picture for an ID request. Type the genus and species name into their Search box and you'll get some pictures and other info of this beautiful moth that mimics a wasp.

i came across one of these moths , does anyone know what it's called and where it comes from
